Selecting a School Trainer
The careful selection of high-quality trainers will make or break a program. The administration should carefully consider who is chosen to become Kagan School Trainers. The questions and characteristics below will assist in determining who will be a quality school trainer.
Questions to Ask:
- Is this teacher respected by staff members?
- Has this teacher successfully implemented other school improvement initiatives?
- Does this teacher effectively share ideas with colleagues?
- Does this teacher possess strong interpersonal skills?
- Would this teacher be considered one of the top educators in the building?
- Does this teacher have most or all of the following characteristics:
- Kind and Considerate
- Gives Recognition and Praise
- Flexible
- Humorous
- Non-Threatening
- Interest in Audience
- Knowledge of Content
- Energetic
Keep in mind, there are some teachers that are great educators but not necessarily effective trainers. It is important to choose wisely when investing in a school trainer.
