Homophone Detective
This set features 32 Homophone Detective quiz cards to gain familiarity with common homophones. To play, every student receives a Homophone Detective quiz card. Students then pair up with a classmate to quiz each other. For example, one student has a quiz card with a short, high-interest paragraph with three incorrect homophones. The student being quizzed must identify that “deer,” “knew,” and “war” were the incorrect homophones in the paragraph. After quizzing both ways, coaching or praising, they trade cards and set off to quiz a new classmate with their new card. The repeated practice boosts retention of the content. Memorizing important information and concepts has never been so fun! Cards can also be used for other Kagan Structures including Fan-N-Pick, RallyQuiz, and Showdown. Instructions provided.
