Digital FAQ
1. Can you use Kagan Software on interactive whiteboards?
Yes. All Kagan’s software offers a full-screen option, ideal for use with interactive white and digital projectors.
2. Is Kagan’s software for Windows or Mac?
Both. Kagan’s software contains both PC and Mac versions on the same CD-ROM.
3. Can I install the software I purchase on multiple computers?
Software purchase entitles you to install the software on one school computer and one home computer for your own use only. Your single user license does not permit you to share copies with other users. For multiple users at the same site, you will want to purchase a site license.
4. How does the software site license work?
A software site license entitles you to install the software on multiple computers at the same school or organization. Site licenses offer discount pricing based on the number of users. You may purchase site licenses in multiples of 10 users online. (For example, purchase two 10-packs to cover 20 users.) For large volume orders, please contact Kagan’s Customer Service department for special pricing.
5. My computer doesn’t have a CD drive; how can I download the software to my computer?
Click here to visit Kagan’s software download center! Just enter your Serial Number and email address, and download links will automatically be sent to you.
6. Where can I find a User’s Guide and other support documentation for my software?
Click here to visit Kagan’s Software Documentation page! Here you will find User’s Guides, Instructions, template files and more to help you get the most out of your Kagan software.
7. How can this software be installed through the network?
Kagan applications can be installed through the network on a Windows-based system using the Microsoft MSIEXEC command, or using third-party deployment software that supports MSIEXEC.
There are three command-line arguments that will be helpful when using MSIEXEC:
- AGREETOLICENSE=yes (mandatory) — this will agree to the licensing agreement present in the installer.
- ALLUSERS=1 (mandatory) — this will install the software for all users on the remote computer.
- SERIALNUMBER=ABCDEFG (optional) — this will package the serial number with the software so users do not need to enter their serial number when launching the application locally. Replace ABCDEFG with your serial number.
* Note with SERIALNUMBER command-line argument: This should only be used for Site License serial numbers. If users have their own individual serial numbers, you should ignore this command-line argument, allowing users to enter their individual serial number when launching the application.
As a sample, here is the command to use for MSIEXEC with the TimerTools installer (replace ABCDEFG with your serial number):
msiexec /q /I “TimerTools.msi” AGREETOLICENSE=yes ALLUSERS=1 SERIALNUMBER=ABCDEFG
Software License Grants
- A single user license comes with each individual software CD. It grants permission to install and use the Software on up to 3 computers for use only by the original licensee.
- A site license grants the licensee permission to install and use the Software on one computer for each user, based on the site license user limit.
- The full software End User License Agreement (EULA) can be found here.

Either the serial number that was entered is not valid, or it has been blacklisted due to abuse.

Kagan’s software programs are text-based, so foreign language characters and complex math symbols may not be formatted properly when entered.

- Go to: http://www.typeit.org/

- Type out the question with the symbols in the space provided on the Typeit website.
- Copy & paste the question directly into the Kagan software.
