Community Helpers

$3.00
Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about community helpers. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “Florist.” The matching card gives the job description of a florist: I arrange and sell flowers. Every student in class receives one card with either the name of a community helper or the job description of a community helper. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the Florist card and asks, “What does a florist do?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with the job description of a computer programmer. He asks, “What community helper writes code for computer programs?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
