Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about spelling. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “___ag” and has a picture of a bag. The matching card gives the missing letter, b. Every student in class receives one card with either a word with a missing letter and an illustration or a letter. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the ___ag card and asks, “What letter is this word missing?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with the letter n. He asks, “What is a word that begins with this letter?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
