Analyze Cause and Effect
If you dump motor oil on the ground, then you pollute your drinking water. If every inch of an urban area is paved, then human behavior is affected. If birds are plentiful, then insect population is reduced. In this activity, pairs investigate the scientific causes of a given effect and make a poster illustrating the cause-effect relationships. Pairs share their posters with another pair and students independently write about the cause-effect relationship of the topic of investigation.
