Fact or Opinion

$3.00
Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about distinguishing fact from opinion. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “It would be easier to write a play than a book.” The matching card gives the category of the statement: opinion. Every student in class receives one card with either a statement or a category, fact or opinion. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has a statement card and asks, “‘It would be easier to write a play than a book.’ Is this statement a fact or opinion?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with a category. He asks, “Can you give me an example of a fact?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
