Homonyms

$3.00
Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about homophones. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “Sea.” The matching card gives a homophone for the word, “See.” Every student in class receives one card with a word with a homophone. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the Sea card and asks, “What does this word mean, and what is its homophone?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with another word with a homophone. He asks, “What is the homophone for ‘write,’ and what does it mean?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
