Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about parts of speech. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “Mother.” The matching card gives the part of speech of the word, noun. Every student in class receives one card with either a word or a part of speech. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the Mother card and asks, “What part of speech is the word ‘mother?’” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with a part of speech. He asks, “What is an example of a verb?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
