Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about basic operations: addition, subtractions, multiplication, and division. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “5___6 = 30.” The matching card shows the operation sign that fills in the blank, x. Every student in class receives one card with either an equation or a basic operation sign. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the 5___6 = 30 card and asks, “What sign completes the equation?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with a division sign. He asks, “What sign is this? Can you come up with an equation using it?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
