Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about fractions and percents. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “1/8.” The matching card gives the percent and decimal equivalents of the fraction, 13% and 0.125. Every student in class receives one card with either a fraction or the percent and decimal equivalent of a fraction. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the 3/8 card and asks, “What percent is this fraction?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with a percent and decimal. He asks, “How can 50% or 0.5 be represented as a fraction?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
