Place Value

$3.00
Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about place value. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “486.” The matching card gives the written place value description of that number: four hundreds, eight tens, six ones. Every student in class receives one card with either a number or a written place value description. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the 486 card and asks, “How many hundreds, tens, and ones are there in 486?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with the written place value description of 142. He asks, “What number has one hundred, four tens, and 2 ones?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
