Matter and Energy Vocabulary

$3.00
Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about matter and energy vocabulary. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “Potential Energy.” The matching card gives the definition of the vocabulary word, stored energy. Every student in class receives one card with either a matter and energy vocabulary word or the definition of a matter and energy vocabulary word. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the Potential Energy card and asks, “What is the definition of potential energy, and what is one example of it?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with the definition of fuel. He asks, “What is the term for material with energy stored in it? Burning it releases heat. Heat is used to drive machines. Examples include oil, coal, and gas.” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
