Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn geography vocabulary. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “Population.” The matching card gives the definition of the term: the number of people living in an area. Every student in class receives one card with either a geography vocabulary word or the definition of a geography vocabulary word. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the population card and asks, “What is the definition of population?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with a definition. He asks, “Which vocabulary word means a person who makes maps?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
