Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about animal classification. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “Ostrich.” The matching card gives the animal classification for an ostrich, bird. Every student in class receives one card with either the name of an animal or an animal classification. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the Ostrich card and asks, “What class of animal is an ostrich?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with the classification amphibian on it. He asks, “What is one animal in the amphibian classification?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
