Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about famous Americans. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “Abraham Lincoln.” The matching card gives details about Abraham Lincoln, including beginning of the end of slavery. Every student in class receives one card with either the name of a famous American or the accomplishments of a famous American. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the Abraham Lincoln card and asks, “What is Abraham Lincoln famous for?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with the accomplishments of Martin Luther King Jr. He asks, “Which famous American matches this description?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
