Mix-N-Match: Social Studies

Historical Events

$3.00
Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about historical events. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “The Gold Rush.” The matching card has the date of the event, 1848. Every student in class receives one card with either an historical event or the date of an historical event. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has The Gold Rush card and asks, “When did the Gold Rush occur?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with a set of dates. He asks, “What historical event took place from 1861 to 1865?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
