Landforms

$3.00
Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about landforms. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “Tundra.” The matching card gives the definition of the term: a treeless plain in the arctic or subarctic regions with black mucky soil and permanently frozen subsoil. Every student in class receives one card with either the name of a landform or the definition of a landform. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the Tundra card and asks, “What are the characteristics of a tundra and where are they found?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with the definition of a landform. He asks, “What landform is described as dry and often hot areas that receive very little precipitation?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
