States and Capitals

$3.00
Students play an interactive quizzing game to learn about states and capitals. This set includes matching cards. For example, one card reads, “Ohio.” The matching card gives the capital city, Columbus. Every student in class receives one card with either the name of a state or a state capital. Students play Quiz-Quiz-Trade with their cards. The quizzing looks like this: Students put a hand up and find a partner. In the pair, one partner has the Ohio card and asks, “What is the capital of Ohio?” The other partner responds. Then they quiz the other way. The other partner has a card with the capital of Arizona. He asks, “Which state’s capital is Phoenix?” His partner responds. Students trade cards and find a new partner to quiz. After many rounds of pairing and quizzing, the teacher asks students to hurry and find their partner with their matching card. The repeated quizzing with multiple classmates makes the content super memorable. Your students have so much fun that they barely realize they’re learning!
